How to Set the Selectable Tire Fill Alert (RAM/Jeep)

The Selectable Tire Fill Alert honks your horn the moment a tire reaches the pressure you set, so you can air up without watching a gauge. You choose your target pressure right in the vehicle’s tire settings using the Uconnect touchscreen (or the driver display on some models).

What the Tire Fill Alert does

You pick a target pressure for the front and rear axles, and the vehicle watches the tires as you fill. The horn chirps once when a tire hits your target, your cue to stop. Overfill it and you’ll get three chirps, repeating every five seconds, until you let air back out, then one more chirp when you’re back on target. It works for airing up or airing down.

How to set it (Uconnect / cluster)

Menu names vary by model year and Uconnect version, but the path is similar:

  1. Start the vehicle and leave the ignition in ON/RUN. (The feature resets every time you shut off.)
  2. On the Uconnect touchscreen, open Settings, then Safety & Driver Assistance (look under Tires or TPMS on some versions) and turn Tire Fill Alert / Tire Fill Assist on.
  3. Open the Apps menu, on newer Uconnect 5, tap Apps > Vehicle, then Select Tire Fill Alert.
  4. Set the front-axle and rear-axle targets in 1-psi steps using your door-jamb placard values. You can save up to two presets.
  5. Confirm and exit. On steering-wheel-button systems, you can also review it in the instrument-cluster Tires menu.

If you can’t find it, look under a Tires or TPMS menu or the vehicle Apps list, and re-enable it after each restart.

How to use it at the air pump

  1. Keep the ignition in ON/RUN with your target set.
  2. Fill one tire at a time.
  3. Listen for the horn: one chirp means stop, you’re at target. Three chirps, repeating every five seconds, means you’ve gone over, bleed a little air until you hear one confirming chirp.
  4. Repeat on each tire.

Where to find the correct pressure

Use the cold inflation pressure on the tire and loading label inside the driver’s door jamb, not the maximum pressure stamped on the tire sidewall. “Cold” means before driving, or after the vehicle has sat a few hours. Front and rear may differ, so set each axle to its own number.

Model and year note

Availability and menu wording differ by model, year, trim and Uconnect version. It’s common on recent RAM 1500, RAM 2500/3500, Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Gladiator, plus select Dodge models.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which RAM, Jeep or Dodge vehicles have the Selectable Tire Fill Alert?
It’s offered on many recent models, commonly the RAM 1500, RAM 2500/3500, Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Gladiator, plus select Dodge models. Availability depends on the year, trim and Uconnect version, so a greyed-out or missing option usually means it isn’t equipped.

What tire pressure should I set?
Use the cold inflation pressure listed on the placard in your driver’s door jamb, matching the front and rear axle values. Don’t use the maximum pressure on the tire sidewall. If you’re unsure, our service team can confirm the right number.

Why did my horn honk while I was filling the tire?
That’s the alert working. One chirp means the tire reached your selected pressure, so stop. Three chirps, repeating every five seconds, means it’s over target, let some air out until you hear the single confirming chirp.

Does the Tire Fill Alert replace the TPMS warning?
No. Your Tire Pressure Monitoring System still monitors your tires and warns you of low pressure while driving. The Selectable Tire Fill Alert is a separate convenience feature that only helps while you inflate or deflate.
